GESI Policy 2080 – BSMC
Disclaimer: The policy has been approved by Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City.
This document is in Nepali.
Nepal’s constitution, provincial planning and municipal laws and activities have expressed the commitment to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) policy as an underlying vision of development. The individuals and groups within the GESI community have less access to services and facilities of the society and state. Thus, the GESI policy for Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City (BSMC) has been prepared with the support of Sudridh-NURP with the foresight to build a prosperous Butwal with gender equality and social inclusion. The goal of this policy is to institutionalise a gender inclusive and responsive governance system by ensuring the creation and implementation of a long-term, result-oriented action plan based on equality and inclusive values for the political, social and economic empowerment of the GESI community through eradicating gender and caste discrimination, violence and traditional harmful social practices. The 13th City Council of BSMC has approved the GESI Policy.
